We will share strategies for increasing students’ engagement and participation in their classrooms and wider school environment (specials, lunchroom, playground, PE, etc) from a PT perspective. This will include topics such as positioning, mobility, classroom set-up, furniture, materials, etc. Lots of time for questions!

2021 Paraprofessional Session 2 - Emergent Literacy Learning: Strategies, Tools, and Resources

The session will explore strategies, tools and resources for teaching students with complex learning and communication profiles who are emergent literacy learners. Paraprofessionals will gain increased knowledge in evidence-based practices for teaching emergent literacy (language/communication, reading, and writing) to students with complex profiles, preschool through high school. Participants will interact with presenters to learn strategies, tools and resources to increase access to literacy learning and student engagement in shared reading.

A Hands-on Tour of the Lexile & Quantile Hub (Virtual Training)

The Agency of Education and MetaMetrics are pleased to offer this professional learning opportunity to build the understanding of the Lexile and Quantile Hub among educators across Vermont. This presentation offers both a quick "tour" and some "hands on time" to explore the new Lexile & Quantile Hub, a "one stop shop" for Lexile and Quantile tools for students, parents, and educators.
